Grammar School
3rd - 6th grades
This is the foundational stage of learning, characterized by memorizing a broad range of facts and absorbing knowledge in core subjects, ‘grammar’ refers to its fundamental components.
GMA students receive a well-rounded education in the liberal arts and sciences. All students study literature, mathematics, history, science, fine arts, foreign language, and physical education because the K-12 years are the years in which we are still coming to know ourselves and the world around us. The successful development of literacy and numeracy and a solid foundation in the core subjects is necessary before advanced or specialized training and study.
Education in Virtues
Classical education teaches objective virtues that have been long revered in the Western tradition, such as wisdom, temperance, justice, and courage along with the Christian virtues of faith, hope and charity. At GMA, we strive to instill virtue in our students from a young age, so the virtues are a central part of the grammar school curriculum
