In partnership with parents, and guided by the Gospel, we strive to educate students to the highest standards of the classical tradition, so that they may grow in knowledge and wisdom, and in the love of our Lord, and more ably use their gifts in the service of others, and for the glory of Christ and his Church.
Our faith statement is the Apostles’ Creed, the most ancient and widely accepted expression of the essential beliefs of the Christian faith.
Highlands teaches and upholds traditional Christian morality, and the Holy Scriptures as the divinely inspired word of God.
Highlands warmly welcomes families of other faiths, but we ask that you respect our distinctive Christian identity. In all of our instruction we are respectful of other faiths, while humbly maintaining the truths of our Christian faith.
Education does not need to be reinvented. Classical education can be distinguished from modern education in that it does not neglect the important first step of giving students the tools for both intellectual development and for understanding their Christian heritage. In working towards mastery of these learning tools, students feel confident in their ability to reason.
Through in-depth study of Jewish, Greek, Roman, Christian and American civilizations students gain a strong foundation in their heritage.
In the traditional classroom, a knowledgeable, enthusiastic teacher carefully leads students into an understanding of each subject. Classrooms are orderly and disciplined. Lessons are incremental, content is age-appropriate, and students learn the important skill of quality written work completed in a timely manner.
This model's efficiency allows for more free time for students and families to pursue other skills/interests, and lends itself well to our homeschool hybrid model.
